CELEBRATIONS! Great things are happening at WCS! The WCS hydroponic farmstand has been working overtime, tended by our kindergarten students. The machine produces Romaine, Red Butter, Summer Crisp, and Lolla Rosa lettuces, as well as spinach, kale, and herbs. It has been fun watching things grow, and learning how delicious healthy foods can be! |
WOOLWICH KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS WANTED! We are looking for Woolwich children who will be 5 years old on or before October 15, 2022 to join next year’s kindergarten class. If you have a child who fits the bill, please call Mrs. Pratt at 443-9739 for more information. |
SQUARE 1 ART FUNDRAISER
Square 1 Art fundraiser is happening now! All of the items you may buy will bring money to the WCS Art room, that is why they cost a little more than you would normally pay in a store. We use this money to do some of the extra things, like 2 clay projects in a year, instead of just one. We also save some of this money every year so we can do unexpected things like getting a new kiln when the old one melts down. Thank you so much for all of your support! Here's the cool thing about this company: even if you choose not to buy anything, your child still receives stickers of their very own artwork from the company! Paper orders are due to the office by Friday, 4/15. Online orders can be placed through Friday, 4/22.

LOST & FOUND
The WCS Lost & Found is located in the entryway to the building. We have a collection of coats, hats, water bottles, and lunch boxes that are looking for their owners. If you are missing an item, please have your student stop by to see if it has ended up with us. Parents are also welcome to stop in and see if anything belongs to their students. All items will be donated over April vacation.
ODYSSEY OF THE MIND
The fifth-grade Woolwich Central School Odyssey of the Mind Team needs your help to go to WORLDS FINALS!
The six students on the team are dedicated to raising the funds needed to participate in this fantastic 5-day trip. Your donation will go directly towards paying for the team's travel, room, and board.
Help send this team to the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals to represent Maine and expand our own community’s talents and skills by donating today! Every single dollar counts!

LINES FROM THE LIBRARY
The results are in for Chickadee and Maine Student Book Award programs! Our 4th-8th grade students had the opportunity to read 3 MSBA books and vote...over 70 students cast a vote. The most popular MSBA book at WCS was Alone in the Woods, but statewide the Maine Student Book Award winner was Primer! Our K-3 students listened to 10 different picture books and voted for their favorite. Crossings by Katy Duffield won by a landslide here at WCS, but finished in 2nd place statewide. The official Chickadee Book Award winner was Fussy Flamingo by Shelley James which was the WCS runner-up. Ask your own child which book they loved the best!
In more book news, check your child’s backpack for a book order form. We will be visited in May by author Jennifer Richard Jacobson. Now is your chance to order a book to be signed! CLICK HERE for the order form!
