Hi All!

We are so excited to start the third year of CPP with you! Mrs. Bunker and I have learned a lot over the past two years and we are happy to begin this year with some experience under our belts. We had 12 students graduate from the program last year! This year we have 8 returning students, 6 of those students will be graduating at the end of the year! We are welcoming 12 new students into the CPP program.

This year will be filled with an interesting curriculum, building professional and adulting skills, community involvement, and personal growth. Through our focus on communication, team building, academics and problem solving skills we will soon become a family.

Tips To Start The Year

This is the time to start adjusting your sleep schedule.
- Remember that school starts at 7:40.
On the first day of school make sure to bring your charged computer and computer charger.
For CPP, you don't need any specific school supplies. You are welcome to provide your own binder, which will be kept in the classroom

CPP Important Information

Parents and permission forms: Please make sure to fill out all beginning-of-the-year paperwork in Infinite Campus. This includes the field trip permission form. We will be going on our first trip on Friday, September 6th. If we do not have the permission slip your child will not be able to participate.
Days absent - new policy: Students may only miss 7 school days per quarter. If a student is absent without a doctor's note for more than 7 days they will fail all CPP classes with a 59% for the quarter (unless their grade is lower due to missing work). Failure due to absences for two or more quarters could result in removal from the program.
The Yonder Pouch and Cell Phones: All cell phones will go into the Yonder Pouch at the beginning of the day. Yikes! We know that this may seem like a nearly impossible adjustment, but we truly believe that it will have a monumental, positive impact. We’ll work through this together.

Important dates to remember:

School starts on Wednesday, September 4th!
First Fieldwork - We will be going out on fieldwork the first Friday of the school year (9/6). Make sure you get your paperwork signed by a parent or guardian.
First all-class trip - We will be working with L.L. Bean again for a whole-class team-building adventure. The day will consist of a half day of team building and a half day of kayaking. This will take place on Thursday, September 19th.

Credit Pathways Program

Mission Statement

The mission of the Credit Pathways Program is to provide students with an alternative educational setting that fosters personal growth, academic achievement, career exploration, and community engagement. Through interdisciplinary, project-based learning, CPP provides a learning environment that honors each individual’s needs, promotes growth and opportunity, and forges a path to graduation and future aspirations.

Admission Process

The students who are chosen for CPP typically face numerous barriers to education which may include: truancy, limited success in the traditional classroom, lack of credits, trauma, involvement in the court system, and/or may be at-risk of dropping out. When selecting students for CPP, a team of administrators, guidance counselors, teacher, and social workers collaborate to identify students needing this alternative model. Once students are nominated for the program, they, along with a family member(s), participate in an interview process. The students accepted into the program must attend and adhere to the program agreements.

The Program

The Credit Pathways Program (CPP) at Morse High School is an alternative education program that allows students a non-traditional learning environment and path to graduation. The program is separated into two cohorts (a morning group and an afternoon group). Each group has a maximum of 14 students. The Credit Pathways Program seeks to provide an alternative pathway for students who, for a variety of reasons, are not finding success in the traditional school setting. The Credit Pathways Program will strive to create a classroom environment that prevents students from dropping out of school (or brings back students who previously dropped out). CPP will provide a flexible program that includes intensive behavioral supports, social and emotional supports, and individualized instruction and remediation.

While in the program, students participate in an interdisciplinary curriculum that incorporates math, science, English, history, and social/emotional learning. In addition to interdisciplinary academics, students volunteer in the community or participate in exploratory fieldwork related to the curriculum once a week.

Juniors and seniors in the program spend half of their day in CPP and the other half of their day in a Bath Tech Program or an Extended Learning Opportunities job internship. Sophomores in the program will participate in both CPP and traditional classes. Students will earn 4 total credits for each year in CPP.

CPP Diploma

Students in CPP are required to earn 18 credits in order to receive a Credit Pathways Diploma. The reduction in credits for a Credit Pathways Diploma allows students who are credit deficient to achieve a diploma while developing their career, academic, and social-emotional skills.
