Does your student have an interest or passion for an extracurricular or supplemental program that is outside of our regular school funding? Could they use some fiscal support in pursuing that passion? Several Morse Alumni continue to support the 826 Enrichment Fund and it is now open for applications. This summer there will be a two week storytelling and podcasting program offered by the SALT Institute and Maine Maritime Museum. The program is available to rising sophomores, juniors and seniors, and funding assistance is available. The program runs from July 11th-22nd.

Attention Shipbuilders: Morse High School's Maine High School Quiz Show Team goes up against Brunswick High School! The competition airs on Thursday, April 7th at 8:00 PM on Maine Public Television. This is a great showing of academic chops and sportsmanship. If you cannot catch it on Thursday, the competition rebroadcasts Friday at 2:00 and Sunday at 5:00. Go Shipbuilders!

The University of Maine system pledges automatic admission and a scholarship to any student involved in the Morse/Chewonki Waypoint program, provided they maintain a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.0 at Morse. We will be hosting the SAT at Morse High School on two separate Saturdays this spring, May 7th and June 4th. You can sign up via College Board if you would like to take the SAT on one of these test dates. You will need to sign into your College Board account to complete your registration. Make sure you select to take the test at Morse High School in Bath, ME. The cost is $55, but you may qualify for a fee waiver if your family qualifies for free/reduced lunch or you feel the cost would be a financial hardship for your family. Please visit or email your school counselor to receive a fee waiver code if this applies to you. If for some reason you are having trouble registering for the SAT on either of these test dates, feel free to come by Student Services.

Access Health/Mid Coast Hospital has been working in our service area (Sagadahoc County, Brunswick and Harpswell) for 6 years promoting mental health awareness, offering trainings in schools (YMHFA, Sources of Strength, SEL etc) and offering a variety of support for substance prevention. Please see the attached flyer for more information on this free virtual training.

Welcome to the SOLD OUT MOHIBA weekend at Morse! We look forward to the return of an in-person MOHIBA in our beautiful new Montgomery Theater. Our students have worked incredibly hard to make the 92nd annual MOHIBA a special event for all. Due to increased numbers of positive COVID-19 cases in our communities and school, Morse has recently been placed in "outbreak" status by the Maine CDC. Given this news, it is understandable that many people will not feel comfortable attending a live event. We encourage anyone who has reserved a ticket, and no longer would like to attend, to stay home and watch the performance on the RSU 1 YouTube channel at a later date. We will provide specifics on how to access this recording and when it will be available on the Morse website (mhs.rsu1.org). Please email Lauren Leeman-Hook, lleeman-hook@rsu1.org if you no longer wish to attend this in-person event. I ask that everyone who chooses to attend MOHIBA this weekend practice extra precautions, including the following: ➡ Everyone must wear a properly-fitting face covering at all times while inside Morse High School. Any non-compliant individuals will be asked to leave. ➡ Please arrive about 30 minutes before the show begins; ushers will be showing your party to your seat. We ask that you exercise patience with our volunteer ushers. ➡ We ask that everyone practice social distancing during the event. Please remain in your given seat during the show, unless you need to use the restroom. Congregation should only occur outside. ➡ Please do not bring outside food or drink into the Montgomery Theater.
