Bath Tech Culinary students prepare food for the 2022 Senior Tea!

At last week's Recognition Assembly, Eric recognized Eighteen Morse students who have earned the Seal of Biliteracy!

Woolwich Central School had some special visitors last week. Here are some photos from the 6th grade Tea Party where students researched and dressed up as famous people from history. The photos show the students practicing etiquette and small talk about their research while being served new food (Kumkquats, beet & ginger juice, etc) by their teachers, Mr. Harrington and Mr. Shea.

Nathaniel Jewett and John Arsenault from Bath Tech placed second in the Ford ACE Skills Competition. Over 150 students competed!! These young men proved themselves to be some of the top performers in the state! This was the first year this competition has taken place and Ford has plans to do it again next year. We are training to take first place next year!

Phippsburg Elementary 3rd graders did an amazing job planting seeds today! They planted lettuce, onion slips, radishes, and carrots.

On Thursday, May 5th students participated in ACES day by walking around the track. Such a beautiful day for an outside event.

Preschool Open House, today May 5th, at Woolwich Central School. Please join us from 6:00-7:00 p.m. this evening!

Gerry Scott and his horse Hercules visit BMS. Horses Over America travels around visiting towns and cities in hopes of helping students dealing with mental health concerns.

The second reading of the proposed school budget for next year will be presented and discussed by the Board of Education Monday, May 2nd, starting at 6:00pm. The meeting will be held in the practice gym at Morse/Bath Tech.

Bath Tech Culinary Arts students helped out in the Morse cafeteria today.

The last day of school for students will be Friday, June 17th. This will be a half day of school. There will be no late start Wednesdays on May 25th, June 1st, June 8th and June 15th to make up for one of our snow days.

The MHS Forensic Science students had special instruction from one of our local detectives about processing a crime scene. Pictured here, students found boot prints and tire treads in a sandy area around the school. Students used the forensic technique of making a dental stone mixture and creating a cast of both boot and tire impressions. Students then went inside and practiced dusting and lifting fingerprint techniques along with collecting static dust trails on the floor. Forensic Science students appreciated Detective Aucoin's guidance with real life forensic techniques!

Some of the 4th grade students at Phippsburg Elementary School had a collaborative lesson right before vacation concerning ocean sustainability and oysters! A member from Bates College, The Nature Conservancy, and KELT all took time to speak to the students on this very important topic.

The MHS Sophomores and the Seniors teamed up for a bake sale to raise money for the Spring Fling Dance in May!

The kids always love Eat The Rainbow week at our schools. WCS had a colorful array of tasty food for the kids to try last week before break. Watermelon, green peppers, celery and red grapes were just a few of the items the kids were able to enjoy.

Some of our Fisher-Mitchell science students are exploring seeds, that will be planted in class, under our new microscopes. Some of our other Fisher-Mitchell students are embracing the warm sun with friends outside. Either way you look at it Spring is in the air.
