Community Service: Grade 9 students participated in our annual community service day earlier this week. We had 14 service sites this year, with 115 students participating, along with 24 chaperones. Sites included: • Maine's First Ship/Bath Freight Shed • United Way • Area elementary schools • Chocolate Church • KELT and LOCAL Garden • Local State Parks, including Popham Beach and Fort Baldwin • Midcoast Youth Center

Bus 46 (Woolwich/Arrowsic) will not be operating due to a staffing shortage. Bus #46 students K-12 will now ride Bus #36 effective this afternoon. Students may arrive 15-20 minutes later than normal today and be picked up a few minutes later in the morning as well. We hope this is a temporary situation and we will communicate any updates. Hard work continues on the Dike-Newell relocation! Contractors and staff have been busy this week cleaning out the old building and working on the necessary renovations and other changes needed for the building to be up and running by the end of August. Things are moving right along at the former Bath Tech facility where Dike-Newell School will be moving in this fall! Just this morning, our Facilities Crew relocated the school sign which will be a welcoming, familiar sight for students, staff, and families!

This week Bath Tech hosted a Summer bridge program for students entering 9th and 10th grade. Students were able to experience a different program each day for five days. This exciting summer experience will give students an opportunity to participate in career and technical experiences with a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) focus. Students participated in culinary arts, cosmetology, graphic design, welding, automotive, carpentry and electrical.

Bath Tech staff and students have been baking like crazy this week!! Almost 250 cookies were sent to Dike Newell and Fisher Mitchell teachers. More treats will be made for first responders as a thank you for all they have had to do this week. We can do this! We stand together in RSU 1!
